DESCRIPTION:The 2021 Fall O&M Users Group Meeting will be held online during October and November. Below you will find the schedule of sessions\, along with corresponding registration links for each. Register below! \nREGISTER \n\nRoundtable Sessions\nThe heart of the meeting consists of manufacturer-specific roundtables for users group members only. The format consists of open discussions\, moderated by Roundtable Chairpersons\, centered on a specific wind turbine\, solar\, or energy storage model and component. The Roundtables provide the opportunity for frank and open discussion among users\, who share their information\, knowledge and experience. \nParticipation in the Roundtables is limited to employees of ESIG member organizations that own\, operate\, or maintain wind generation equipment. \nBelow you’ll find a list of the roundtable sessions currently scheduled. SUMMARY:System Operation & Market Design Working Group Fall 2021 Session
DESCRIPTION:The System Operation & Market Design Working Group will hold an online session on Monday\, November 15\, 3:00 – 5:00 pm (eastern US). See below for the list of topics and discussion items for the meeting. \n3:00 – 3:30 p.m. Introduction and key updates \nThe group will share some of the key recent activities occurring over the last six months related to system operations and market design in key regions around the world. The chairs may ask for some input from some key working group members that have interesting updates to share.  \n3:30 – 3:55 p.m. Hybrids Task Force \nThe Hybrids Task Force has been looking at the emergence of new hybrid resources that consist of one or more co-located technologies that are being interconnected and planned for across the world\, and especially in the United States. The task force has been set up to evaluate key industry challenges such as interconnection\, operations and market design\, and resource adequacy contributions among other topics. The task force plans to share some guidelines for the industry to ensure that these resources and the flexibility they can provide are utilized at their full potential. The task force will provide an update on the reports and meetings that have happened to date. \n3:55 – 4:20 p.m. Flexibility Resources Task Force \nThe Flexibility Resources Task Force is looking at other resources such as industrial electrification and hydrogen that may be important to achieve society goals for 100% zero-emission energy. These resources are not well understood by power system operators and planners and the task force explores the capabilities of the technologies and their role on a decarbonized supply fleet. The task force will provide an update on the work to date. \n4:20 – 4:45 p.m. DER Open Networks Task Force \nThe DER Open Networks Task Force is evaluating the innovative ways in which DERs can provide services to the bulk power system reliably and efficiently\, and participate in wholesale electricity markets. The task force is looking at various options around the world including U.S. FERC Order 2222 and UK Open Networks.
