System Planning Working Group Spring 2021 Session

May 13, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

  • « G-PST/ESIG Webinar Series: Is “Grid Forming” Enough: What Do Electricity Grids Need From IBR?
  • Webinar: Open Networks Project – Extracting Flexibility from DER »

The System Planning Working Group will meet on Thursday, May 13 (3:00 – 4:30 p.m. EDT) to discuss different approaches to calculating the benefits of transmission. Speakers from MISO, ERCOT, and Siemens PTI will offer opening remarks and take questions on their experience in system planning. The meeting will focus on facilitating a conversation between the panelists and among members. Participants are encouraged to turn their camera on and participate during the question and discussion periods. By the end of the meeting we would like to come up with an analytical construct that could be used to guide future transmission planning analysis. Our goal is to present preliminary analysis using this construct at the Fall Technical Workshop in Austin, which will hopefully take place in person.
