The ESIG Excellence Awards is an annual program designed to recognize energy professionals from around the world for their contributions and accomplishments toward the planning and operation of energy systems across multiple pathways and geographical scales in ways that are reliable, economic and sustainable.

Award recipients are honored annually during ESIG’s Spring Technical Workshop and Spring O&M Users Group Meeting.

Award Categories

Lifetime Excellence Award

This award represents the highest level of dedication, loyalty, and commitment to the industry and recognizes those who have made significant contributions to energy systems integration over the course of their careers and have, or are about to, retire from their day jobs.

Excellence Award

The Excellence Award honors individuals who have made outstanding personal and professional contributions in the renewable energy industry. Past recipients have included individuals and teams of colleagues focused on the advancement of technology, innovation and research. Additional recipients have included industry executives and other leaders for their contributions in clean energy transformation. Not to be forgotten, we aim to also recognize individuals for their behind-the-scenes technical contributions related to various aspects of energy system transformation.

Individual and team nominations from around the world are welcome!

Ross Newlin Achievement Award

This award is presented annually to a deserving member of ESIG’s O&M Users Group for their contributions in leading advancement efforts of the technical and operations sectors of the renewable energy industry.

The Ross Newlin Annual Achievement Award was created in 2012 when the board of directors named its Operations and Maintenance Annual Achievement Award after wind industry veteran, Ross Newlin. Newlin was a a long-time employee of enXco Service Corporation, now EDF Renewable Services. He helped develop and lead the Operations and Maintenance Users Group and exemplified a vision for what the energy system could be with a commitment to supporting the sharing of knowledge and providing inclusive leadership. His service to this cause unfortunately ended early when he succumbed to cancer in July 2011.

How to Apply

If you would like to nominate a deserving colleague or individual within the industry, please fill out the form below. Nominations for this year’s awards are due by February 13, 2023.
