Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) has announced that Alex Shattuck has been hired as the Group’s Director of Grid Transformation. Shattuck joins ESIG after serving as Senior Engineer in Engineering & Security Integration with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) for two years.

In his new role, Shattuck will provide support to the Reliability Working Group, as well as other multidisciplinary task forces including ESIG’s newly-announced Large Load Task Force, as well as the Integrated Planning Task Force.

Shattuck specializes in maintaining bulk power system reliability as inverter-based resource (IBR) penetration increases through providing guidance and best practices related to the interconnection process, interconnection and reliability studies, modeling, and regulatory enhancements.

Prior to his time at NERC, he was a Lead Modeling Engineer with Vestas Wind Systems, and has worked with Electric Power Engineers and New York Independent System Operator (NY-ISO) as a Transmission Planning Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
