2017 Spring Operations and Maintenance User Group Meeting
March 28, 2017 - March 30, 2017
The UVIG Operations & Maintenance User Group Meeting will be held at The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria in Houston, TX on March 28-30, 2017. The meeting will provide a forum for personnel working with wind and solar generation equipment and at wind and solar power plants, to network, share experiences, and share up-to-date knowledge on technical topics.
This meeting will have a different footprint from previous meetings with a half-day workshop taking place the afternoon of March 28. The pre-meeting workshop will focus on gearboxes. Like the roundtables, the workshop will be open to attendance by operations & maintenance personnel and seating will be limited. The formal meeting will begin with a plenary session taking place the morning of March 29. The topic of the plenary will be announced soon.
That session will be followed in the afternoon by meetings of the Siemens, Clipper, Mitsubishi and Gamesa Roundtables. The day will conclude with a networking reception and presentation of the 2017 Ross Newlin Annual Achievement Award for Variable-Generation Plant Operations & Maintenance.
The morning of March 30 will consist of meetings of the GE, Vestas and Senvion/Nordex/Suzlon Roundtables. The afternoon will feature a Roundtable focusing on Balance of Plant Issues and a Roundtable focusing on Solar O&M Issues.
About the Roundtables: Participation in the roundtables is limited to employees of UVIG member organizations that own, operate, or maintain wind and/or solar generation equipment. Employees of other UVIG member organizations are welcome to attend the plenary session. The format consists of open discussions, moderated by a Roundtable chair, centered on a specific wind turbine component or specific model of wind turbine. The Roundtable provides the opportunity for frank and open discussion among users, who share their information, knowledge and experience. The Roundtable schedule is as follows:
