2018 Spring Operations & Maintenance User Group Meeting
March 27, 2018 - March 30, 2018
2018 SPRING OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE USERS GROUP MEETING (PRESENTATIONS)
The UVIG Operations & Maintenance Users Group provides a forum for personnel working with wind and solar generation equipment and at wind and solar power plants to network, share experiences, and learn up-to-date knowledge on technical topics.
The schedule of events begins March 27 with a tour of the ZF gearbox rebuild facility in nearby Vernon Hills. The tour will be followed by a half day workshop (roundtable discussion) focused on padmount transformers.
The core meeting will begin the morning of March 28 with a plenary session focusing on generators and power converters. The plenary session is open to attendance by employees of all UVIG member organizations.
That session will be followed in the afternoon by meetings of the Siemens, Clipper, and Mitsubishi/Gamesa Roundtables. The day will conclude with a networking reception with the presentation of the Ross Newlin Annual Achievement Award for Variable-Generation Plant Operations and Maintenance.
Running in parallel the morning of March 29 will be meetings of the GE, Vestas, and Senvion/Nordex/Suzlon Roundtables. The afternoon will feature a Roundtable focusing on Balance of Plant issues and an update on NERC topics.
The Solar O&M Roundtable will meet all-day on March 30 (separate registration required).

About the Plenary Session
Based on feedback from the user group membership, the plenary session will focus on generators and power converters.
About the Roundtables
The heart of the meeting is manufacturer-specific Roundtables for user group members only. The format consists of open discussions, moderated by Roundtable chairpersons, centered on a specific wind turbine component or specific model of wind turbine, or solar power equipment. The Roundtables provide the opportunity for frank and open discussion among users, who share their information, knowledge and experience.
Participation in the Roundtables is limited to employees of UVIG member organizations that own, operate, or maintain wind and/or solar generation equipment.
*Separate registration required for Solar O&M Roundtable; not included in Meeting registration
