2016 Forecasting Workshop

freeUVIG is pleased to announce the 2016 edition of its premier industry event, the Variable Generation (VG) Forecasting Workshop. This annual event brings together experts from North America, Europe, and around the world to explore the state-of-the-art in wind, solar and distributed generation forecasting and its application to electric power system planning and operations.
This workshop is intended for utilities and power system operators, companies associated with producing and using variable generation, research groups working to improve VG output forecasts, and companies involved in forecasting and integration services for all forms of variable generation. The purpose of this workshop is to help participants to:
• Develop a better understanding of the value of VG forecasting in the day-ahead, hour-ahead and real-time periods
• Explore the enhanced prospects for the use of VG forecasts in the scheduling and operation of power systems and markets
• Develop a better understanding of VG forecasting developments that are underway or on the horizon
• Continue an ongoing dialog between the VG forecasting research, development, applications and user communities
The morning of the first day will be devoted to tutorials, while the afternoon of the first day will be devoted to meetings of the UVIG User Groups:
• DG APPLICATIONS
• OPERATING IMPACTS AND INTEGRATION STUDIES
• MARKET OPERATION AND TRANSMISSION PLANNING
• VG PLANT MODELING AND INTERCONNECTION
The workshop program itself will take place all day September 28 and 29.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
All requests for refunds must be submitted to UVIG in writing. Refunds may not be processed until after the event.
