Webinar: Understanding Energy Storage Value Streams

March 27, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

  • « Webinar: Inverter Fundamentals – DER & Bulk Power System Connected Resources
  • Webinar: Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Impacts »

Featured Speaker: Derek Stenclik, GE Power

Stenclik leads the Power Systems Strategy team, which is primarily responsible for studies and analysis using production cost and reliability models for global economic and power system consulting. His most recent projects involve wind and solar integration studies, with specific focus on small island systems where integration challenges are more demanding.  In this role he has provided extensive modeling and consulting support for studies evaluating the impact of high renewable penetration on system operations, reliability and economics.

Moderator: Charlie Smith, UVIG Executive Director

Registration Cost: FREE

Additional Information: Hydro pumped storage has been in use at the bulk system level for many years, and battery energy storage is now making inroads at both the transmission and distribution system levels.  While the cost of batteries is still high, they are declining quickly drawing significant attention on early applications, many of which deal with managing variability and uncertainty from renewable energy plants.  This webinar will focus on understanding the value of energy storage across many end use applications including stand alone and hybrid plant configurations.
