Converter Model Grid Interface

Author: EPRI[1]

In the generator/converter model block diagram there are two blocks labeled, “high-voltage reactive current management” and “low-voltage active current management”. These blocks represent logic associated with the dynamic model and the ac network solution. The actual implementation of this logic may be software dependent. In the past a simple block diagram was provide in an effort to attempt to explain the logic, this however seemed to have caused more confusion. Here we provide a flow chart, provided by GE, for greater clarification.
